Tillie's Story
An oral autobiography, as told by Tillie Konschak
(1891- 1983), to her son-in-law, John F. Matzko
My
parents and grandparents lived together somewhere in the southern part
of Germany. Around 1875 times were bad and there were no jobs to be
had, but the rumor was there was work in Lodz. My father, Julius Konschak,
was one of the three taken there by my grandparents.

Reluctant Soldier
World War II memories of John
Frank Matzko (1912-1991)
Intro
Nothing
is known of the Dinda family except that there was Mary, my mother and
her brother who had two children, all of whom are presumed dead. Mother
was a seamstress and made her living sewing for people. She had her
own home, and after she married Dad he did some cooper work out of her
home.
